The 4PEACE MUSIC GROUP was founded in January of 2018 by 4Peace, as a means to condense his label operations into a single universal hub that represents both his artist brand as well as his labels JUICED MUSIC, CABBIE HAT RECORDINGS & UHHQ (Underground House Headquarters). He also helps with A&R duties for his wife's label CALIBER SOUNDS.

4PEACE originally started his career as a Hip-Hop DJ way back in 1988, before eventually falling in love with Electronic Dance Music while attending Stephen F. Austin State University & studying to become a basketball coach.  It was here at a fraternity rush party that he was introduced to the musical stylings of such alternative dance artists as Depeche Mode, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb & New Order.  His life would forever be changed.  As he became more infatuated with these progressive sounds & more disenchanted with pop culture & his systemic "education", he decided to drop-out of school (as a college senior) & follow his heart to pursue a career as a DJ!  Crazy right?  Haha!  You'd think so until you hear the rest of the story.  Best decision ever!

4Peace moved back home to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex in the great state of Texas.  Once firmly established back in the DFW scene, he quickly went on to became one of the areas most successful & well-known DJ's, even winning "Best Club DJ" at the 1996 FW Weekly Music awards.  From hip-hop he moved onto industrial, techno then breaks, before finally settling in House Music after hearing Armand Van Helden's "Witch Doctor" at a rave.

He went on to spend many of the following years working & helping manage some of the area's most revered record stores, including
Core Records & Neurovox Records.  Once armed with his insider's knowledge of the industry, he eventually decided to open his own vinyl boutique,
TECH*SUN RECORDS in 1999 & continued to successfully operate until 2002 when he decided to leave the vinyl biz for good due to the impending digital revolution.

While he had amassed quite an impressive studio full of hardware, 4Peace didn't really start taking producing seriously until 1997, when he joined forces with good friend J. CAPRICE & together they formed the infamous Jackin duo known as HIGH MAINTENANCE.  Things happened fast, & they began getting tracks signed to labels all over the world & began regularly performing in cities all across the U.S..  In  2009, they established their digital House Music imprint JUICED MUSIC, which then quickly went on to establish itself as one of the most recognizable & sought after brands within the Jackin/Funky House community. After a long & successful run together, 4Peace & J. Caprice decided to amicably part ways in 2015.  4Peace carried on as sole owner of Juiced Music, while J. Caprice went on to establish the exceptional label Simplistic Music Company.  In 2011, 4Peace established his second digital label CABBIE HAT RECORDINGS & in 2015 his third, UHHQ!  Both have unique signature sounds (jazz & deep/tech respectively) & have gone on to become very successful brands in their own right.

It wasn't until about 2009 that Matt started releasing his own solo projects under the a 4PEACE alias.  That's when things really started to take off!  He's since gone on to remix such amazing talent as 4-time Grammy nominee Steve "Silk" Hurley & other House heavyweights such as Dajae, Demarkus Lewis, Angelo Ferreri, DJ E-Clyps, Johnny Fiasco, Cevin Fisher, Joey Chicago and more! In addition to his own labels, he's also released music on scene staples such as Guesthouse, Spacedisco, Fogbank, Grin Trax, S&S Chicago, Nite Grooves, Whitebeard, Panhandle, MoodyHouse, Monoside, Mood Funk, Myriad Black & many more!

In 2011, while attending the Winter Music Conference in Miami, his good friend Tim Munoz introduced 4Peace to Traxsource owners Brian Tappert & Marc Pomeroy of Soulfuric Recordings during a tour of their office.  They immediately established a connection & before leaving town he was offered the Jackin House Genre A&R Management position.  So he packed up his bags & headed from Dallas, Texas to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to work for the world's most prestigious online digital House Music boutique.  After 2.5 years of working from the Florida office, he made a decision to move with his future wife to the picturesque shores of northern New Zealand where he still works remotely to this day.  It's from here, inside the ultimate peace & tranquility of a NZ paradise that he's able to pursue his life vision of building a musical empire under the 4PEACE MUSIC GROUP brand name.  In 2017, 4PEACE was also handed the Lounge/Chillout A&R manager position & then in 2022, the Garage genre as well.  Further cementing his ability to support his family & a life as an artist/creator.

In 2015 he was awarded the #37 overall Jackin House Artist in the world position by TRAXSOURCE, followed by positions #36 in 2016, #27 in 2017, #57 in 2018 (he requested to be left out in 2019), and #64 in 2020!  In 2022 Traxsource did away with top genre artists of the year & opted to just go with an overall top 500 where he was awarded the #417 overall position of House Music producers in the world!

Moving forward you can expect to hear even more from 4PEACE.  With an unsurpassed spirit & never say die attitude, he's here for the long haul!  He's in it to win it & like a fine wine, just keeps getting better with time!  While most producers are hitting their peaks, 4PEACE is still just getting warmed up!  This is just the beginning!  Are you ready?

"I've been following 4peace for a few years now and this man makes and produces some of the finest modern dance music around with unwavering consistency especially through his label 'Cabbie Hat Recordings'. I don't know him personally as I live in London and he lives in New Zealand. but he comes across as a dedicated, hardworking and committed individual. I especially love the more 'jazzy' side of his dance music productions of which I have bought many tracks and featured some of them in my YouTube uploads. If he was British then I would recommend him for a 'knighthood' from our Royal Family for his services to 'Dance Music'. His official title would then be 'Sir 4Peace' or 'Sir Matt Pruitt' OBE or MBE. I strongly recommend you check out his music and label 'Cabbie Hat Recordings' on Traxsource .com. 11 out of 10 for this man!"
